The first two episodes of the fourth season of The chosen ones premiered Wednesday night at the historic Ace Hotel Theater in Los Angeles, California.

In front of a packed audience, series creator and director Dallas Jenkins announced that actor Shahar Isaac, who plays the Apostle Peter, would not be able to attend the premiere because he is in Israel as a military member, according to Newsweek.

On a lighter note, he joked that this was the reason The chosen ones Filming most of the scenes in Texas is because Texans believe Jesus lived there, the outlet reported.

But unlike traditional Hollywood premieres, the cast walked on a teal carpet, not the usual red.

“Teal is the color of our show, man. It is the color of light, it is the color of water, it is the color of the sky. So we just thought, 'Let's stay on brand.' We always did things a little outside the box,” he told Newsweek.

Roma Downey was also at the premiere.

Harvest Fellowship pastor Greg Laurie and his wife Cathe were also in attendance at the premiere.

The official X account for The chosen ones posted a short video of Roumie listing the reasons why fans should see the series in theaters.

As CBN News has reported, the season four synopsis reads:

Confronting Kingdoms. Rival rulers. Jesus' enemies are closing in as his followers struggle to keep up, leaving him alone to carry the burden. Threatened by the reality of Jesus' growing influence, religious leaders do the unthinkable: They ally with their Roman oppressors. As the seeds of betrayal are sown and resistance to Jesus' message turns violent, he has no choice but to demand UPRISING from his followers.

All eight episodes of The chosen onesSeason 4 hits theaters in February.

Episodes 1 to 3 will be released on February 1st; Episodes 4 to 6 will follow from February 15th; and 7 and 8 will be released on February 29th.
