2024 WAFCONQ: Super Falcons defeat Cape Verde 5-0 in first leg

Paris 2024 Olympics: The peregrine falcon can't stop us, Banyana Banyana boasts

South African defender Noko Marrow of Banyana Banyana believes he will have the upper hand against the Super Falcons when they clash in the winner-take-all final round of the Paris 2024 Olympic qualifying series.

South Africa and Nigeria won big in the final round of qualifying and the Super Falcons will host the first leg at the MKO Abiola Stadium in Abuja. And Matru said his recent win against the Super Falcons gave him an advantage heading into the match.

“We played Nigeria a few times and won the last four games. I believe we have a chance to qualify for the Olympics and I'm sure we will qualify.'' Matru said.

Also hoping for success against Nigeria, Banyana Banyana coach Desir Ellis said it would be a do-or-die game between the rivals.

The CAF Coach of the Year said she is planning an early training camp to give her team a better chance of playing against the nine-time African champions.

“We want to have an early camp, and the earlier and better we prepare, the better our chances are,” she said.
