Family announces burial arrangements for former lawmaker Cairo Ojogbo


The family of Nigeria's former member of the House of Representatives, Dr. Cairo Ojogbo, has announced his burial arrangements.

The late Mr. Ojogbo, who passed away on February 7, 2024 at the age of 64, will be buried on Friday, April 19, 2024 at the Ojogbo family compound in Agbor, Delta State.

The internment will take place immediately after the funeral mass scheduled to begin by 10am at St. John the Baptist Catholic Church, along Old Lagos/Asaba Road, Agbor, Delta State.

The reception will be held on the same day at the open ground opposite the Central Hospital in Agbor.

The late Mr. Ojogbo, who hailed from Delta State, was a prominent grassroots politician who was fearless and outspoken without prejudice against tribes or languages.

According to a statement released by the family, other burial activities scheduled prior to the burial include a Requiem Mass to be held at the Church of the Assumption, Asokoro, Abuja by 4pm on Thursday, April 16, 2024; It is a wake mass. , until 4:00 pm on April 18, 2024 at All Saints Catholic Church, Arihame, Agbor, Delta State.

Christian Wake will be held on Thursday, April 18, 2024 from 6pm to 10pm at the Ojogbo Family Compound, Arihame, Agbor, Delta State.

The burial activities will conclude with a thanksgiving mass at All Saints Catholic Church, Arihame, Agbor, Delta State by 9:00 a.m. on Sunday, April 21, 2024.

The late Mr. Cairo Ojogbo represented Ika Federal Constituency of Delta State in the House of Representatives from 2003 to 2007 and also served as the leader of the All Progressives Congress (APC) in Delta State.

He is also a former Executive Director Project of the Niger Delta Development Commission (NDDC).
