Former Manchester United star Gary Neville has said he looks like hapless Chelsea striker Nicholas Jackson.

Jackson, who joined Stamford Bridge from Villarreal last summer, has been criticized by some fans for missing chances in front of goal.

But speaking on Football London's Gary Neville Podcast, Neville said he likes the player, who has just started his first full season in the Premier League.

Jackson has missed 21 big chances in the Premier League and is third in the table.

“I actually like Nicholas Jackson. This might be an unpopular opinion here, but I like him. I think he has a lot to offer.

“He's a young player. I think it cost him…not a ridiculous amount of money, but it's his first full season in the Premier League, he's scored quite a few goals and he keeps going. .

“There's a lot to be said about that. He might not be the number one striker, but if he was the number two or number three striker in a team of 18 to 20 players, I would say, “I'll take care of it.''

Chelsea lost 1-0 to Manchester City in the FA Cup semi-final, a game in which Jackson failed to score from several key positions. Analyzing his team's game as a whole, Neville added:

“So for me, the performance that Chelsea had against Manchester City in the FA Cup semi-final was a hell of a performance. It was good, really good. And if they have a forward who can finish more consistently than Nicholas Jackson If they had, they would have won the game.
