Tinubu government is incapable of solving Nigeria’s economic misfortune – Swam

Former Benue State Governor Gabriel Suswamu has said President Bola Tinubu’s government cannot change Nigeria’s economic destiny.

Swam made this statement in an interview on Channels TV monitored by DAILY POST.

He said the Tinubu government would not be able to rescue the country from the economic woes caused by his predecessor, Muhammadu Buhari.

“Well, it’s quite unfortunate since the Buhari administration when the mantra of ‘change’ was being sung. Unfortunately, people didn’t ask what changes he was going to bring in governance. Is it a change or a negative change?

“What we went through in those eight years is in line with what we are going through today because whatever foundations were laid by the PDP were completely destroyed by that (Buhari) regime. It's a body.

“We have now begun our journey into the abyss. The current state of the country economically is not worth talking about, but the current (Tinubu) leadership does not have what it takes to change the economic destiny of this country. It's a shame there isn't one.”

According to him, policies such as the removal of petrol subsidy, fluctuation of the naira, and increase in electricity prices are clear indications that the government is trying to make things even worse for the Nigerian masses.
