The Delta State Police Public Relations Officer, SP Bright Edafe, confirmed the report in a statement.

He said: “On April 26, 2024, at about 9am, the command received an intelligence report that some suspected kidnappers were hibernating and hiding with the kidnapped victims in Okuno, Orogun. The Delta State Commissioner of Police, CP Abaniwonda Olufemi, has directed DPO Abraka Division SP Fabian Ayame to direct police operatives to the hideout.”

According to SP Edafe, the DPO quickly mobilized to raid the bush and engage in a fierce gunfight with the suspected kidnappers, with one suspect seriously injured in the gunfire while the other suspects fled. .
