Nigerian Air Force kills notorious terrorist Yellow Jambros in Niger



The Nigerian Air Force (NAF) has announced that an airstrike carried out on Wednesday, December 6, neutralized notorious terrorist and kidnapping kingpin Yellow Jambros and a number of his associates.

NAF spokesperson Air Chief Marshal Edward Gabukwet confirmed the development in a statement issued on Sunday, December 10, 2023.

According to the statement, the airstrike was carried out by the air wing of Operation Whirlpunch in Shiroro Local Government Area (LGA) of Niger State.

Gabukweto said Jambros and his gang were tracked from Zamfara to Niger State where they were killed as they attempted to cross the Jikuduna River in Galadima-Kogo District on their way to Ulukubi axis in Chikun LGA.

“Prior to the strike, Yellow Jambros and his comrades were tracked on 13 motorbikes along the Kaduna-Niger state border from Zamfara state to Niger state, just heading towards Kusas in Shiroro LGA of Niger state. ” said Gabkwet.

“In Ksas, five other terrorists on motorcycles joined the convoy of Yellow Jambros, bringing the total number of motorcycles to 18, and then headed to the banks of the Jikudna River.”

Gabkwet said the terrorists and 18 motorbikes boarded a large motorized canoe on the riverbank and attempted to cross the river to join other terrorists.

“Permission was granted at this point to carry out a strike. This precision attack was judged to be effective, as it incapacitated Yellow Jambros and his associates, destroyed their motorcycles, and sunk their boats. ” he added.
