NIESV's new leadership vows reform and new strategy

The Nigerian Institute of Estate Surveyors and Valuers (NIESV) has entered a new chapter with the appointment of Mr. Victor Allonge as its Chairman.
Mr Allonge's appointment to the leadership comes at a pivotal time for the professional body, which has faced challenges from a potential skills gap and the need for a stronger public voice. When he took office as Edo State, he recognized these challenges head on.

He has a wealth of experience and has held senior positions in both the NIESV and the Real Estate Surveyors and Valuers Registration Board of Nigeria (ESVARBON). He highlighted this experience and pledged to work with the new leaders selected by the organization in his new role.

Alonget's vision for the New NIESV prioritizes member well-being and professional growth, along with a renewed commitment to community service. He pledged to increase transparency and accountability within the organization and stressed the importance of improving public awareness of the profession.

He outlined a four-pillar plan and vowed to reform, restructure, reposition and ensure the relevance of NIESV. “This comprehensive strategy to revitalize NIESV includes transforming internal practices to streamline operations and increase effectiveness, and transforming the organization to maximize impact and better serve our members. It includes rebuilding,” Alonge said.

He also brought NIESV into the public spotlight to deepen public understanding of the value of the profession to the Nigerian economy and ensure its relevance by ensuring a strong voice in both the public and private sectors. I plan to relocate it to the venue.

Mr. Allonje also expressed determination and optimism, recognizing the challenges but expressing his enthusiasm for working with his colleagues to usher in a new era for NIESV.

“These are challenging but interesting and achievable agendas, and I am excited to work with the new council to achieve them,” he declared. He also said, “I will do my best to regain the lost glory.''
