Navy conducts free medical assistance in Rivers communities to promote civil-military relations
The Nigerian Naval Ship (NNS) Pathfinder has carried out medical assistance in Opobo/Nkoro Assembly in Rivers State as a means of promoting friendly civil-military relations in the state.

Mr. Igbo pointed out that the operation covers more than 1,000 beneficiaries and provides a series of programs such as deworming and vaccination of children, free dental examinations, biopsies, and vision tests for both the young and the elderly. Earlier, the Amayanabo of Opobo, King Dandison Jaja, said there was a need for more medical presence in the council area as the entire area faced health challenges due to its riverine topography. Ta.
Mr. Jaja, who was represented by Dr. Deenyi Bergum, a Titled Citizen of Opobo, said it was a hassle for residents living in seemingly inaccessible places to access health facilities in the area, adding that there were no medical facilities in the area.
