National network collapses again

There is impending darkness in the country as the national power grid, managed centrally from Osogbo, Osun State, collapsed at approximately 4:30 pm on Thursday, March 28.

Following the incident, several distribution companies covering the country's 36 states reported that their feeders were down, resulting in widespread blackouts across the country.

Although the grid's output was 2,984 megawatts at 4 p.m., the 21 plants on the grid had zero output at 5 p.m. This marks the fourth time the network has collapsed this year.
