Impersonation: Nigerian Army hands over fired soldier and 3 others to police

The Lagos State Police Command has announced that the Nigerian Army has handed over a soldier and three others who were dismissed on suspicion of impersonation.

Spokesman of the command, SP Benjamin Fundein, confirmed the handover to the News Agency of Nigeria (NAN) on Sunday.

Hundein said an army captain (names withheld) from Dodan Barracks in Obalende took the four suspects (names withheld) to Onikan Police Station at around 5:01pm on Friday. Stated.

He added that all the suspects have no fixed address and one of them was fired from the army in 2016.

Fundein said the suspects were arrested wearing Nigerian military camouflage, T-shirts and face caps.

“Interrogations revealed that the suspects frequently use military equipment to commit various crimes, as well as to breach checkpoints.

Efforts are underway to determine how they obtained their military uniforms. The investigation is ongoing.”
