Nigerian musician Ilvriss opens up about setbacks, fatherhood and the making of his latest album, and explains why it took him almost four years to record his seventh studio album.

“In 2020, in the midst of COVID-19, I thought we were all going to die, but my wife was pregnant, so I was surprised. How can I save my daughter and wife? “We were fighting, but she delivered the baby at 25 weeks old, which turns out to be really premature,” he said.

Also, how it influenced his music and why he makes new music despite revealing that he spends more time watching TV than playing music. He also answered a question about why it took so long. Ilvriss answered. “My album had a lot of setbacks in promotion. I was trying to focus on his wife and kids, who weren't really physically present at the time.”

The musician went on to talk about how his life has changed since then, with becoming a father causing him to focus more on producing television content, saying, “Doing music was the last thing on my mind.'' ” he said.
After six albums, he believed it was time to hang up his boots. Maybe you're thinking, “This is God telling me it's time. You know I have six albums and four EPs, but it's not about your timing. , little did I know that it was a matter of divine timing,” he revealed.

His latest album is said to be named after his daughters and talks about the impact fatherhood has had on him. This new phase is evident in his lyrical perspective, which incorporates wisdom gained through his experiences and collaborations.

Illbliss released their debut album in 2009, collaborating with the likes of Terry-G and Cole. And on their latest album, their seventh, released for the first time in almost 15 years, featuring Vector, Odumodublvck and more, the album is titled:Side Kai
