Gunmen kill Ayedatiwa's election campaign coordinator, police launch investigation

The Ondo State Police Command has launched an investigation to unravel the circumstances surrounding the unfortunate murder of the Ward Coordinator of Governor Lucky Ayedatiwa’s campaign organization, Mr Alaba Abe.

DAILY POST earlier reported that Prime Minister Abe, known as Excel, was shot dead by assassination suspects on Saturday night.

The deceased was one of the governor's campaign coordinators during the All Progressives Congress (APC) gubernatorial primaries held in Ondo State last Saturday.

Mr. Abe was also the returning officer for the party's primary election in the 10th district of the Congressional region.

Contacted by DAILY POST, the Ondo State Police Public Relations Officer, Funmilayo Odunlami, confirmed the incident and said an investigation has been launched.

She said, “Yes, it's true. Command has launched an investigation to find out what happened.”
