Force PRO justifies conversion of 50 Kano “repentant criminals” to police force


The Force Public Relations Officer, Mr. Olumuyiwa Adejobi, disclosed that the idea to convert about 50 serious criminals to become police constables in Kano State was an initiative of the state government’s Community Policing Plan.

DAILY POST recalled that there were reports that the repentant criminals were converted to police constables, but Mr. Adejobi in a post on his official X-handle said they were rather converted to constables. Ta.

He said the initiative was in accordance with the particularities of the security situation in Kano state, stressing that it was not a bad idea.

The post read: “They have been converted to police constables instead of constables. The two words are not the same. This is an initiative of the Kano State government and a project based on the Community Policing System.

“In my opinion, it is not a bad idea for the government to turn them into useful security personnel.

“If you know Kano well, you will understand the government’s thinking in this regard. So learn and gain knowledge about Kano State.”
