EPL: Liverpool receive big boost ahead of match against Manchester City

EPL table: Liverpool moves into first place with 2-0 win over Burnley

Liverpool moved to the top of the Premier League with a 2-0 win over Burnley on Boxing Day.

Jurgen Klopp's side traveled to second-placed Turf Moor looking to put pressure on Arsenal.

Darwin Nunez ended the scoring drought and put the Reds ahead.

The Uruguayan striker had not scored for over 600 minutes, but he scored an excellent shot from the edge of the box early on.

Harvey Elliott's shot was ruled out because Mohamed Salah was in an offside position, before Diogo Jota sealed the winner.

Liverpool now have 42 points, two more than Arsenal, who host West Ham on Thursday.
