EPL: Rooney gives Awoniyi tips on how to be more clinical

Manchester United legend Wayne Rooney has given Taiwo Awoniyi some tips to improve his game.

Awoniyi is currently one of the highly regarded strikers in the English top flight.

The striker has proven himself this season despite missing a large part of the season due to injury.

The Nigeria international has scored twice for Nottingham Forest since returning from injury last month.

But Rooney believes the striker can provide an additional goal threat.

“As a forward, if you're in the middle of the goal, you'll get chances,” he told the Nottingham Post.

“He needs to be a little more careful and maybe make some extra passes, but he will have a better chance.

“He has to be ready when that opportunity comes. If he moves on to a bigger club, he will need to take that chance.”
