Candidates wishing to enroll in Basic Nursing must do so through JAMB – College.

The management of Oyo State College of Nursing and Midwifery has declared that candidates seeking admission to Basic Nursing must go through the Joint Admissions and Matriculation Board (JAMB).

The university made this declaration through a statement made available to DAILY POST by its Chancellor, Dr. Gbonjubola Owolabi.

DAILY POST reports that the university is one of the tertiary institutions owned by the Oyo State government.

In a statement released on Thursday, Owolabi said the agency would not compromise its standards.

She further asserted that admission to the institution is based on merit.

Mr. Owolabi further said in his address that post-UTME forms will be made available at the university after the declaration of results for students who have achieved the cut-off marks of 200 and above.

The chancellor added that the institution has extended the sale of the forms by four weeks from the original deadline of March 20, 2024.

He concluded that the purpose of the extension is to give more time to prospective students who may still be interested in obtaining their forms.

“Admission to Basic Nursing is currently done through the Joint Admissions and Matriculation Board (JAMB). Admissions are strictly merit-based so the university does not compromise on her standards.

“The post-UTME form will be made available at the university after the declaration of results for those who have achieved cut-off marks of 200 and above in the exam.

“The University has extended the sale of Basic Midwifery Forms by four weeks from the original deadline of March 20, 2024. It's about making more time for people.”

“Computer-based testing (CBT) is scheduled to be held from April 22 to 24, and interview dates are scheduled for May 2 and 3, 2024.”
