Breaking news: Super Eagles defeat Ghana 2-1 in Marrakech friendly

Nigeria defeated Ghana 2-1 in a friendly match in Marrakech, Morocco on Friday night.

The two West African rivals took advantage of the FIFA international break to play against each other.

The Super Eagles dominated the early stages and took the lead through Cyril Dessers.

Dessers calmly pressed the ball home from the penalty spot in the 38th minute.

Finidi George's Nigeria side failed to convert further chances, with Dessers and Kelechi Iheanacho guilty of wasting chances.

However, in the second half, Alex Iwobi found Ademola Lookman inside the penalty area and scored a dramatic second goal. There was enough time for Jordan Ayew to pull one back late.

The Eagles will play Mali in another friendly four days later.
