The All Progressives Congress of Enugu State, APC, has expressed shock and sadness over the passing away of Senator Ayog Eze, who represented Enugu North Senatorial District from 2007 to 2015.
According to a statement signed by the APC State Chairman, Chief Ugochukwu Agbala and made available to journalists in Enugu over the weekend, the news of Senator Eze’s “tragic and sudden” passing away on April 25 was brought to light by party members and members of the party. According to Agbala, “Senator Ayog Eze was a key stakeholder in APC Enugu State. He is a journalist who worked with Newswatch Magazine and was a member of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) from 2007 to 2015. He also represented Enugu North Senatorial District under the platform.
“Senator Ayog Eze was the Enugu State governorship candidate of our party, APC, in 2019.
“Sen Ayog Eze served as the Commissioner representing Enugu State on the Revenue Mobilization and Allocation and Finance Committee until his death.”
The statement noted that Mr. St. Eze was also the Special Adviser to the former Governor of the former Enugu State from 1991-193. He served on the Civil Regulations Transition Committee in 1999 and was subsequently appointed Commerce Commissioner from 1999 to 2007. He is also the pioneer Enugu state secretary of the PDP.

“During his eight years in the Senate, he was appointed chairman of the Senate Information and Media Committee and became the official spokesperson for the Senate.
