Agents sympathize with victims of Port Harcourt tanker explosion


The Rivers Caucus of the House of Representatives has commiserated with the victims of the tanker explosion accident that occurred last week on Eleme Road, Port Harcourt, Rivers State.

This was contained in a statement on Monday by the leader of the caucus, Rep. Dunnameng Dekor (PDP-Rivers).

Lawmakers expressed sadness at the havoc caused by the inferno.

“As true representatives of the nation, we extend our deepest condolences to the families and loved ones of those affected by this tragic inferno.

“Our hearts ache for the lives lost and the deep sorrow that is now engulfing our dear river.

“This tragic fire incident has understandably shaken the nation to its core, given the scale of the loss, and we stand in solidarity with those grieving the loss of loved ones.

“Our thoughts and prayers are with everyone affected by this tragedy,” he said.

Mr Dekor called on philanthropists and other Nigerians to reach out and provide all possible support to those affected.

The lawmaker urged Nigerians to take this opportunity to reflect on the importance of safety measures and prevention strategies to avoid such tragedies in the future.
