Zamfara NUJ pledges continued partnership with NYSC

The Zamfara State Council of the Nigeria Union of Journalists (NUJ) has pledged continued support to the activities of the National Youth Service Corps (NYSC) in realizing its mandate.

Chairman of the Council, Mr. Ibrahim Musa Maizare, made this assertion while receiving a delegation from the NYSC Editorial and Public Relations CDS Group on a courtesy visit to Gusau, the state capital.

Mr. Maizare praised the plan’s invaluable contribution to national unity and integration, noting that this is the first time that the NYSC team has formally engaged with the union, and termed the visit historic. emphasized.

He said the main purpose of the media is to inform, educate and entertain the people, and expressed his intention to cooperate with groups and organizations interested in the development of the nation.

The head of the Association of State Universities also told the corps members that as young journalists they should consider themselves part of the union and consider the Association of State Universities offices their home.

In his address, District Secretary Abdulrazak Bello Kaura urged the corps members to be good ambassadors of the nation, respect the norms and traditions of their people and make a lasting impact on their host communities.

Earlier, the leader of the delegation, Mr. Akonte Samuel, said the visit was part of NYSC’s renewed efforts to strengthen ties with media executives and stakeholders in the state.

He disclosed that arrangements have been made to run a weekly radio program on Gamji FM to strengthen the promotion of NYSC activities in the state.
