Why the 2024 budget cannot be implemented – Former Benue State Governor, Suswam

Former Benue State Governor, Mr. Samuel Suswamu, has admitted errors in the 2024 budget proposed by President Bola Tinubu.

Swamu defined that it cannot be implemented as the budget has a deficit of 17 trillion naira.

Mr. Tinubu had on Wednesday offered a proposed budget of N27.5 trillion for the 2024 monetary 12 months to members of parliament.

Swam, nevertheless, stated the budget was ready as a result of lack of management amongst these in energy.

The former governor spoke Wednesday to 25 fellow members of the Emerging Political Leadership Fellowship.

According to Swam, “When we have been the budget, out of the whole quantity of that budget, the deficit was 17 trillion naira.

“This is an exemption as a result of now we have a deficit of N9 trillion, debt service of N8 trillion, and one other N2.7 trillion in tax expenditure.

“So the entire 27 trillion naira budget is not viable. Do you know why that is the case? Because we have people in our leadership who have no intellectual content.”
