Why I turned down a record deal with Akon's brother Olamide – Mr. Eazi

He said, “I remember going to 'Ghana Meets Naija' in Ghana. That's where I met Olamide. He tried to get me signed to his record label. They offered me a deal. Someone else was also trying to sign me. The first person who tried to sign me was Akon's brother Boo (Abu Thiam).

“I turned it down because I didn't even understand what I was doing. It was too early to sign. So I didn't sign with Bu.

“When Olamide offered me a deal, I turned it down because I knew I didn’t fully understand the business or what I was doing. Everything was happening so fast. One thing I knew was that I wanted freedom.”

Eazy said in an interview that Jay-Z's record label, ROC Nation, wanted to sign his hit song “Skin Tight,” but Wizkid “offered him life-changing money.” I was told that I should only sign the contract if I was willing to do so.”
