Police in Lagos State said they have informed Joseph Aloba, father of late singer Ilerioluwa Aloba aka Mohbad, that he can come and collect his son’s dead body whenever he wants, but the man is yet to request this.
It is worth remembering that the singer’s mother released a video on Tuesday, November 21, saying that the singer’s body was handed over to his father, but he refused to be buried again.
LIB’s conclusions showed that the police, after completing the singer’s autopsy, informed his father that he could come forward to collect his body, but the man had not yet requested it.
A law enforcement source who spoke to LIB on condition of anonymity said
”The body is in the morgue. It was not released. It wouldn’t be released to you and you wouldn’t come get it. The hospital wouldn’t allow that. Only the father can request the release of the corpse, only the father and the police said that the day he applies, he will receive it immediately. We told them that whenever they want, they can just write an application, but the father refused to do that. Technically, it’s the father who is holding back. The father said he won’t take it yet until they do the DNA and that’s a personal family problem. If the man writes today, of course he will be released and he will have to carry the corpse. You can’t write it down and keep it there. For whom?”
Remember that the singer who died on September 12th was buried the following day, September 13th. After the controversy surrounding his death, Nigerians demanded an autopsy and his body was exhumed on September 21st. and the results of the autopsy have not yet been released.
Aloba has repeatedly insisted that a DNA test must be done to determine the true paternity of Liam, the seven-month-old son of the late Mohbad and his wife, Wunmi.
