WACSI celebrates CSOs’ contribution to West Africa’s development

The West African Civil Society Institute (WACSI) has launched a report summarizing the impression of civil society organizations (CSOs) on financial, social and political development in West Africa.

The report, titled “The Contribution of Civil Society Organizations to West Africa’s Economic, Social and Political Development,” was launched final week in collaboration with the Ford Foundation.

According to the research’s lead researcher, Dr. Solomon Amoah, the research’s indicators have been developed in parallel with sustainable development.

WACSI Executive Director Nana Afazinu mentioned the report was an advocacy software to sensitize folks concerning the function of CSOs in making certain regional development and development.

On how to enhance the contribution of CSOs, the report recommends ample funding, capability constructing and elevated participation in nationwide and sub-national dialogues, which can allow the right administration of civic areas.

Mr. Dabesaki Mak Ikemenjima, Senior Program Officer, Ford Foundation West Africa, recommended civil society for its essential function in society by way of problem-solving and concepts that foster constructive development.
