UNIUYO sanctions 26 students for cheating

Over 26 students of the University of Uyo in Akwa Ibom State have been sanctioned for varied offenses starting from educational fraud to different anti-social acts.

The 127th and 128th Senate conferences chaired by the Vice-Chancellor, Professor Nyaudo Ndeyo, on August 30 and October 4, 2023, concluded that the coed dismissal decision was achieved respectively.

The affected students are from the Faculty of Agriculture, Faculty of Science, Faculty of Engineering, Faculty of Arts, Faculty of Management Sciences, and Faculty of Pharmacy.

According to the breakdown, three have been completely expelled, one other three have been suspended indefinitely for failing to look earlier than a correctly constituted committee, and the remaining 17 have been disciplined.

A press release from the registrar who suspended the coed reads partially: “The Senate of the University of Uyo, in its 127th meeting held on Wednesday, August 30, 2023, sanctioned nine erring students of the university to deter other students from cheating. ” expresses the model of excellence that the college stands for.

“Three students have been handled poorly, three have been suspended indefinitely, and the remaining three have been expelled from the varsity.

“The Senate, at its 128th session on Wednesday, October 4, 2023, will also censure 17 more erring students and deter other students from committing such misdemeanors. I directed that the names of the affected students be punished.”
