EPL: Ten Hag lists only one goalkeeper better than Onana.

Transfer: Ten Hag prevents Man United star from leaving Old Trafford

Manchester United manager Erik ten Hag has prevented midfielder Hannibal Meybry from leaving Old Trafford on loan in January as the Red Devils await the return of Casemiro and Mason Mount.

The Tunisian international will not be allowed to leave Man United on loan this month until Len Hag is satisfied with his midfield options.

Meibry withdrew from the African Cup of Nations (AFCON) to decide on his future.

He has appeared in nine games for United this season.

Ten Hag are fans of the 20-year-old's tenacity but would like to give him more playing time to help him develop.

However, with Casemiro and Mount currently unavailable, United are short on midfield options.

Christian Eriksen has just returned from a five-week rest, while Sofian Amrabat missed the last two games for Ten Hag's team.

According to the Daily Mail, Ten Hag wants Casemiro and Mount to return before sanctioning Meybry's departure.

Hannibal spent last season on loan at Birmingham, making 38 appearances for the club.

He is open to returning to Birmingham later in the season.
