Nigerian-born midfielder signs new contract with Chelsea

Transfer: Chelsea identify player to sign as replacement for Osimhen

Chelsea are reportedly considering a move for Girona's Artem Dovvik as a short-term replacement for long-term target Victor Osimhen.

Osimhen recently signed a new contract with Napoli, so it seems highly unlikely that he will join Chelsea in the January transfer window.

According to The Sun (via Teamtalk), the Blues are keen to bring Dovvik to Stamford Bridge in January this year.

Dobvik has impressed for Girona in La Liga this season.

He has 11 goals and five assists in 17 games this season.

His contract with the La Liga club expires in 2028, meaning he will cost a lot of money, but not as much as Osimhen.

Chelsea have continued to struggle with finding goals this season, so a player like Dovvik could do the trick.

Mauricio Pochettino's side are also rumored to be linked with Brentford's Ivan Toney.
