Tinubu’s reappointment of Kyari as NNPCL GCEO is disadvantageous for Nigeria – Madaki
Barr, an oil and gas expert and managing partner of BBH Consulting. Ame Madaki has slammed President Bola Ahmed Tinubu over the reappointment of Mele Kyari as Group Chief Executive Officer of the Nigerian National Oil Company.
DAILY POST reports that Mr. Tinubu on Monday approved the reappointment of Mr. Kyari and the appointment of Mr. Pius Akinyelure (chairman) and seven other NNPLC board members.

He said Kyari’s reappointment would be a huge disservice to Nigeria given the continued corruption in the industry.
“That’s shocking to me. He doesn’t know or care about what’s going on in the oil and gas industry. Given the level of mismanagement of the industry under Mr. Mele Kyari. “It would be a huge disgrace to this country to allow him and most of the board members to remain, thereby passing a vote of confidence over years of gross mismanagement of Nigeria’s oil and gas industry,” he said. Mr. Kyari was appointed Group Managing Director of NNPC by former President Muhammadu Buhari in June 2019.
