Tensions rise as bandits gather in Katsina community in droves


Residents of Kankara LGA of Katsina State are under palpable tension following reports of a large gathering of suspected bandits in the vicinity.

Axis sources said more than 100 motorcycles carrying the attackers were seen gathering in the Dansabaw forest in Kankara LGA.

The attackers reportedly belonged to six bandit camps in Katsina led by known leaders such as Dankarami, Bazar, Al-Ila, M. Ikko, and Babalo da Mobe. They are reportedly gathering to meet with other leaders of the Zamfara Axis and unleash terror in a civil war. The days ahead.

Kankara LGC Chairman Salisu Bardi also acknowledged the situation.

“We are aware of the developing situation and have directed Katsina surveillance and vigilante groups around Baba, Masaku and Kaikabayas areas to monitor their movements and alert security forces about the developing situation.” said Baldi.

But against the looming threat, vigilant community members insisted this was a constant trend and called on the military to take pre-emptive action. He suggested air raids on the area to prevent any potential impact.
