Teni denies having surgery to lose weight, saying she was on a strict diet


Nigerian singer Teniola Apata (popularly known as Teni) has revealed that her weight loss is not due to surgical treatment as speculated.

She explained that she went on a “strict diet” to achieve her new figure.

Teni spoke on the latest episode of the podcast “Zero Conditions.”

She said: She went through a lot of changes. I lost weight, and my unfortunate friends told me that I had an operation.

“If I had surgery, my stomach would be flat. I wanted it, but I was scared. Surgery is not easy. It is life-threatening. Going under the knife is not easy. I was on a strict diet. Ask my manager. No carbs. I went on a strict diet for two months.

“But it taught me discipline. The mind is also a muscle. The way you bend your arms helps make your mind flexible through training. It wasn’t easy. Do you know what it means to not be able to take them out and eat what they are eating?

“After surviving a life-threatening COVID-19 infection, I decided to lose weight. I had COVID-19 twice. In 2020 and 2021. So, COVID-19 In January 2022, post-infection, I just said, “Oh, it’s about time (to lose weight).”
