Taraba: Mr Maru wins APC primary in Jalingo Yoro Jin federal constituency by-election.

Mr. Aminu Ibrahim Maru has emerged as the All Progressives Congress (APC) candidate for the upcoming by-election in Jalingo Yoro-Zingu Federal Constituency of Taraba State.

In the party's primary election held at the Jolly Naimeh Stadium in Jalingo over the weekend, Maru received 41 votes, ahead of competitors including Mohamed Alkali, Abdulmumini Hamza and Bilyaminu Umar. Ta.

The by-election was necessitated by the untimely death of Ismaila Maihansi, who won the seat under the Peoples Democratic Party, PDP, in the 2023 general elections.

Election Commission Chairman Rawan Ismaila announced Mr Mar's victory and praised the fairness of the election.

He called on the unsuccessful candidates to unite with the flag bearers and defeat the PDP in the elections scheduled for February 3.

APC state chairman, Barrister Ibrahim Tukur El-Sudi, expressed confidence in the party’s ability to succeed at the polls.

He called on election judges to ensure a level playing field for all candidates and political parties.

The state APC Public Relations Secretary, Mr. Aaron Altimas, commended the delegates for their mature conduct during the primaries.

Artimas stressed that the primary elections were conducted by an electoral commission appointed by the National Secretariat, and the party provided a favorable environment without interference.

APC stalwart Alhaji Tukur Sambo Shintari and party member Cyrus Ghani have praised El-Sudi state chairman for revitalizing the party in Taraba state.
