Suspected N43 billion missing: Officials threaten NCAA management

The House of Representatives has threatened to transfer control of the Nigerian Civil Aviation Authority (NCAA) to the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission (EFCC).

This is more than the Norwegian 43 billion that is said to be missing.

The notification was announced by the Chairman of the House Committee on Finance, Rep. James Faleke, on Monday in Abuja during an interaction session with revenue agencies.

According to data provided by the Federal Airports Authority of Nigeria (FAAN), local airlines transported 16 million passengers in 2022.

It turned out that the international airline transported 3 million passengers.

According to the report, there will be revenue of NOK 1.28 trillion from tickets sold to international passengers, with NOK 64 billion in 2022 representing 5% of the total amount divided by five regulatory bodies.

It was also confirmed that the ADR16 document held by the Nigerian Airspace Management Authority (NAMA) revealed that the local airline carried 14,572,614 passengers in 2021.

According to records given to the committee, the NCAA declared that it received NOK 12.7 billion in revenue from the percentage of total revenue allocated to industry regulatory bodies.

However, the lawmaker said this amount is less than the NCAA’s expected total revenue share of N66 billion to be realized from domestic and international travel revenue in 2022.
