Suspected cultists kidnap and kill three in Rivers
Suspected cultists have killed three people in Egbeh community in Ubie Kingdom, Ahoada West Local Government Area of Rivers State.
It was gathered that the cultists believed to be loyal to a General 'Danger' invaded the community on Monday, December 4, 2023, and kidnapped the three victims, including a woman.
Community sources said the dead bodies of the three abductees were found along the Egbeh and Ebiriba Road area of Ubie Kingdom later in the day.
According to PunhappyPrior to the incident, the two deceased male victims were said to have quarreled with a woman said to be the mother of General 'Danger' and she vowed to deal with them.
General Danger is said to be the leader of the Icelandic cult group in the area.
It was also learned that the lady who was kidnapped along with the two men was the girlfriend of one of the men, while the woman who was said to be the mother of General 'Danger' had fled the community.
Shortly after they were taken by the bandits, there was pandemonium in the community when the natives raised the alarm, leading to a search.
“We started researching to find out where the boys took the three people. We started hearing gunshots between Egbeh and Ebiriba Road. Later, when people from the community went there, they saw the bodies of the three people these bad boys killed,” a source told the publication.
Spokesperson of the Rivers State Police Command, SP Grace Iringe-Koko, confirmed the incident, saying investigation is ongoing to arrest the suspects and make them face the law.
“Yes, I am aware of the incident, three people were killed and we are making efforts to ensure that the perpetrators are arrested and face justice. The investigation is ongoing at this time,” the PPRO added.
