State of emergency declared on collapsed federal road in Anambra – CLO requests FG


The Civil Liberties Union (CLO) has known as on the Federal Government to declare a state of emergency in Anambra State over the failure of the Nkwerre-Nsugbe-Umueri-Agureri federal road.

Anambra CLO Chairman Vincent Ezekwueme said this in a press release, calling it a passionate and life-saving attraction to President Bola Tinubu, the Minister of Labor, Chief David Umahi and the Federal Emergency Roads Maintenance Agency.

Ezekwueme informed reporters on Tuesday that President Tinubu ought to ship the Minister of Labor to the dilapidated and horrible road out of patriotism and generosity.

According to him, the road makes life depressing, painful and scary for individuals residing alongside the axis.

He mentioned poor road circumstances have been exacerbating the deteriorating safety scenario in some components of Anambra State and neighboring Southeast Enugu State.

“Rather than serving as a hyperlink, our roads are damaged and have severed ties with the bulk of our inhabitants.

“Currently, the roads are inaccessible and in a degrading condition, completely cutting off anyone living there or coming in,” he mentioned.
