Sporting Lagos partners with universities for player education

Sporting Lagos of the Nigeria Premier Football League has announced a partnership with Miva Open University.

According to the club, the move is to enhance the education of players while pursuing a career in football.

The name of the player who will combine football and education will be announced by the club in the future.

Sporting Lagos was founded last year by Nigerian entrepreneur Shola Akinlade.

The modest team was promoted to the NPFL from the Nigeria National League (NNL) last season.

The club made quite an impact in their debut season in Nigeria’s top flight.
