Simon Ekpa sabotages our efforts in the South East – from Chief of Defense Staff to MP

The Chief of Defense Staff, General Christopher Musa, on Tuesday accused self-proclaimed Biafra agitator Simon Ekpa of obstructing the operations of security personnel in the South East.

General Musa disclosed this when he led other service chiefs and the Inspector General of Police at the start of sectoral debates in the House of Commons.

According to Musa, “Simon Ekpa is sabotaging our efforts in the South East.”

Musa stressed that Finland protects Ekpa and called on the federal government to coordinate with the Finnish government regarding the activities of the agitators and possibly invite its ambassador to Nigeria.

He said the military and other security agencies in the country were doing their best to ensure peace in the South-East, but Ekpa’s statements and activities were hampering such efforts.

Ekpa had claimed to have taken over the agitation for the restoration of Biafra after the arrest of Nnamdi Kanu, the leader of the Indigenous People of Biafra, IPOB.

Ekpa is widely believed to be funding some armed groups operating in the southeast.

These armed men typically enforce the stay-at-home orders declared by Ekpa.
