Simon Ekpa is working on our efforts in the South East - Chief of Defense Staff tells House Reps

The Chief of Defense Staff, General Christopher Musa, has accused the self-proclaimed leader of Biafra, Simon Ekpa, of undermining the efforts of the security forces in the Southeast.

General Musa said this while addressing a delegation of other Chiefs and the Inspector General of Police in their presence before the House of Representatives on Tuesday, November 21.

According to Musa, “Simon Ekpa is engaged in our Southeast.”

Following the arrest of Nnamdi Kanu, Ekpa asserted his leadership in the rebellion to restore Biafra.

It is widely believed that Ekpa allegedly provides support to armed groups operating in the South, who often demand sit-ins at home from Ekpa.

Accusing Ekpa of Finland, Musa urged the Federal Government to initiate diplomatic dialogue with the Finnish government and invite the Finnish ambassador to Nigeria to address concerns about the activities of the driver.

Musa acknowledged the efforts of the military and other security agencies in maintaining peace in the south, but expressed concern that Ekpa’s comments and actions would undermine these efforts.
