He said President Bola Tinubu’s administration recognizes the role of traditional institutions in navigating the complexities of the country’s diversity and is therefore committed to celebrating the rich cultural heritage of all tribes in the country. He said he would always prioritize targeted activities.

Shettima further said that the commitment expressed by the President to ensure positive transformation in the lives of Nigerians is firm and he will work round the clock to achieve these goals.

“We are committed to making a positive difference in the lives of Nigerians.

“Festivals like this call for national unity. Ogun State has always been a source of celebration of our enduring cultural heritage and values ​​that promote unity and development.

“Thank you for reminding us of the role of sociology and economics of cultural celebration in nation-building. Our diversity is a source of strength, not division. “This is proof of our adaptability,” he said.

Also speaking at the event, the governor said the state government will build on his achievements to better the lives of the state’s residents.

Governor Abiodun said this year’s Akesunday celebration was a double celebration for his victory in the re-election case at the Court of Appeal, Lagos, on Friday.
