Mr Pau also insisted he wanted to go to trial, saying: “I thought we might have won”, but Shakira said he had decided to make a deal.
He went on to defend his client, saying: “With international artists, it’s very difficult.

“I need to move past the stress and emotions of the last several years and focus on the things I love – my kids and all the opportunities I have going into my career, including the upcoming world tour and the new album, both of which I am extremely excited about.
“I greatly admire those who have fought these injuries to the end, but for me, today, my time is winning for the kids and for my career.”
The prosecution’s case revolves around whether Shakira was a resident of Spain or the Bahamas between the beginning of 2012 and the end of 2014.
It started with Gerard Pique in 2010, but he says that initially he did not live with him in Barcelona and that he was not staying in the tax office.
