Serie A: Napoli manager praises Osimhen as ‘champion’ after win against Atalanta

Napoli manager Walter Mazzarri continued to praise Victor Osimhen after his impressive performance in Saturday’s win over Atalanta.

Osimhen has recovered from a hamstring problem and has returned to the Serie A Champions squad.

The 24-year-old was injured during Nigeria’s friendly match against Saudi Arabia last month.

The former Lille striker made an immediate impact upon his return, setting up Elf Elmas’ winning goal in a 2-1 win against Atalanta at the Jewis Stadium.

Coach Mazzarri praised the Nigerian player, calling him a champion.

“Osimhen? We are talking about the champion. He said (against Atalanta) that he would be able to play around 20 to 25 minutes. A player like that can make a difference. It makes the defense nervous,” Mazzarri told Napoli magazine.
