The Senate on Tuesday approved the appointment of Dr. Chukwuemeke Agbasi as the Managing Director of the Federal Roads Maintenance Agency (FERMA) and the appointment of nine other candidates as Directors of the Agency.
Confirmed as members of the board are Mr. Tarms Manasseh, Dr. Kenneth Ugbala, Senator Timothy Aduda and Mr. Babatunde Daramola.
Others include Prey Oseke, Aminu Adamu Papa, Abubakar Bappa, Shehu Mohammed and Yusuf Othman.
Their approval followed the adoption of a report by the committee chairman, Senator Babangida Hussaini (APC, Jigawa North West), at the Committee of the Whole of the Senate Committee on Examination of Candidates.
In his presentation, Senator Hussaini urged the Senate to consider President Tinubu’s request for confirmation of the nominee under Section 2(1)(2) of the FERMA Act 2002.
The president had sent a letter to the Senate asking lawmakers to review and confirm the nomination.
