Sebastian Broderick: NFF reveals cause of death of former Golden Eaglets coach

The Nigeria Football Federation (NFF) has revealed the cause of death of former Nigeria U-17 men's national team head coach, Sebastian Broderick.

Mr. Broderick passed away at the age of 85 at a hospital in Benin City.

The NFF confirmed in a post on X on Thursday that he died while being treated for diabetes and a stroke.

“The federation is saddened by the passing of veteran coach Sebastian Broderick Imasen,” the NFF said in a post.

“At 85 years old, he was the first person to lead an African team to victory at the FIFA World Cup.

“He passed away in a hospital in Benin while undergoing treatment for diabetes and stroke.

“Rest in peace, Mr. Sabara.”
