Rivers Police arrest 13 officers for dressing indecently

The Rivers State Police Command mentioned 13 of its officers have been arrested for indecent dressing.

The State Commissioner of Police, Olatunji Disu, disclosed this throughout a dwell program on a radio station in Port Harcourt on (*13*), December 2, 2023.

Disu mentioned the police officers have been arrested throughout a commando monitoring unit patrol in varied components of Port Harcourt and at the moment are in detention.

“During a routine patrol in various parts of the city, we arrested around 13 police officers who were dressed indecently. This is part of an ongoing effort to prevent indecent dress by commanding officers. And the head of the divisions where these detained agents serve will be indirectly responsible for the conduct of the personnel”, stated the PC.

Disu also assured that the killers of the former divisional police officer of Ahoada East local government area of ​​the state, SP Bako Ang Bashin, would be arrested and made to face the law.

The police chief said he is impressed by the concern shown by the public about the DPO’s murder.

He revealed that he is talking to stakeholders in Ahoada and also taking advice from them in a bid to arrest the prime suspect, Gift Okpara.

“As police, we cannot be successful without the cooperation and partnership of the public. I started promoting a partnership between the police and the public,” he mentioned.

“I had two meetings with the traffic section of the police to remind them that they must be civil in their dealings with the public.

“I want to work with the public so they can trust us and provide us with information.”
