Rivers murder suspect DPO talks behind the scenes

David Gift Okpala Okpolow (popularly known as 2 Baba), a cultist wanted for the murder of Ahoada Division DPO Bako Ambasim, has spoken out behind closed doors, denying any involvement in the DPO murder.

In a voice note sent to the media in Port Harcourt, Rivers State, 2 Baba said the news of the DPO’s killing came as a surprise to him, adding that he had nothing to do with it.

Recall that cultists who were terrorizing Ahoada East Local Government Area of Rivers State killed Mr. Ambasim and seized his dismembered body during an operation in the state.

Following the incident, the state’s governor, Siminalai Hubala, imposed a reward of 100 million naira on the perpetrator.

However, 2Baba said in a voice note that he had spoken to Ambassim hours before he was killed and was shocked by the news of the killing.

He said: “I want to tell the whole world that my hands were not involved in the murder of the DPO. During that time, I never wanted to talk about this, but people were very worried, so I wanted to tell people the truth. I said, let’s talk about it.

“I was not involved in the murder. It was just an incident that happened on my local road. I was not there the day it happened. I was shocked to hear what happened. I did.”
