Rivers LG presidents who disrespect me are digging their hole – Fubara

Rivers State Governor, Siminalayi Fubara, has hit out at local government chairmen and other political appointees who disrespect him, saying they are digging a hole into which they will fall.
Fubara stated this on Thursday, April 11, while inaugurating the Comprehensive Primary Health Center at Ndoni in Ogba/Egbema/Ndoni Local Government Area of the state, built by former governor of Rivers State, Dr. Peter Odili.
Fubara expressed shock at seeing the president of ONELGA at the event, saying that normally in any state function, the presidents of the council stay away because, according to him, they are not loyal to him.
Fubara said:
“I am surprised to have seen the chairman of Ogba/Egbema/Ndoni Local Government here. I am very surprised because before any event that had to do with the state government, all the local government presidents, so to speak, did not participate.”
Addressing the head of ONELGA, Fubara said;
“I hope when you leave here they won't fire you because I know you're not loyal to me. Or when you leave here, will you give an interview to the press that wasn't you, but your shadow?
“But let me say it here. Every one of you who thinks you're disrespecting me has already dug your hole. You will fall into it. That's the truth.
“Our minds are very open. We wish no harm on anyone, but we hope you know and do what is right. To those of you who have chosen to play the role that you think leads to your salvation, good riddance.”
While pledging his administration's support to President Bola Tinubu, he said:
“We made a promise to Mr. President to support him and we will continue to support him. How can we support you?
“It is to ensure that the well-being of our people is guaranteed. It is to ensure that our people, those who need it most, make them happy in this difficult economic situation. If we cannot solve all the problems, at least we will do everything we can to mitigate these basic challenges. This is the only way to support Mr. President.”
