The Ministry of Solid Minerals Development has informed residents of Adamawa and Taraba states that the Federal Government will undertake an aero-geophysical survey around the local government areas adjoining the two states.

The activity, which is supported by the Mineral Sector Support Project for Economic Diversification (MinDiver), will be carried out by an international consultant called Excalibur, which will provide airborne magnetic surveys in selected states. It involves the use of a small yellow airplane fitted with a magnetic lens. of the federation including Adamawa and Taraba.

A press statement signed by MinDiver's head of media and communication, Ishaq Kigbu, said the ministry had previously carried out full sensitization in these provinces, as the air magnet surveillance operation is still ongoing. Each state will experience these special aircraft flights capturing magnetic anomalies in repeating patterns at very low altitudes.

“People residing in the local government areas between Taraba and Adamawa states panicked when they noticed small yellow aircraft flying at low altitude to collect geological information and data for areas within both states. There is no need to fall into this trap,” the statement said.

The statement said that Ardo Kola, Jalingo, Karim Lamido, Lau, Yoro and Jin local governments in Taraba State and Mayo Baruwa, Demsa, Ganye and Tungo local governments in Adamawa State witnessed the low-level flight. specified.

The Ministry of Solid Minerals Development said the alert had become necessary in view of the security situation in the country and to avoid giving false information to the public.
