Rema and Asake set new Afrobeat record

Nigerian singing duo Rema and Asake recently set a new Afrobeats record.

Asake won the 2024 GQ Global Creative Award, becoming the first Afrobeats artist to win the award.

The elated singer shared a photo of the shield on her Instagram Story and tagged “GQ.”

On the other side of the Atlantic, Rema's “Calm Down” has been nominated for “Best Hit International” at the 2024 Swiss Music Awards.

“Calm Down” became the first Nigerian/Afrobeats song to be nominated for the Swiss Prize.
