Real Madrid's Jude Bellingham names the players who have had the most influence on his career

Real Madrid ace Jude Bellingham has named Manchester United legend Wayne Rooney as the player who had the biggest influence on his career growing up as a young footballer.

Bellingham said Monday after winning the coveted Golden Boy Award in Turin, Italy.

Bellingham said at the award ceremony:

“I think Wayne Rooney was probably the biggest influence on me growing up, obviously from England and the way he played and fought, but there are a lot of other players that I learned from.”

“I'm really grateful for everything football has given me in my life so far and the support from my family to keep playing and enjoying it has been huge,” he added.

Since joining Real Madrid from Dortmund this year, Bellingham has made an impressive debut.

The England international has scored 15 goals in all competitions for Madrid, breaking Cristiano Ronaldo's record for most goals scored in his first 15 games for Los Blancos.

Meanwhile, Manchester City's Erling Haaland beat out Lionel Messi to win the Golden Player of the Year award for his spectacular efforts in helping Josep Guardiola's side win the treble last season.
