Rangers have been fined 1m after reacting violently to Abia Warriors’ taunts during Sunday’s Round 10 clash.

The Nigeria Premier Football League said the gesture was illegal under league regulations.

Some Flying Antelopes officials were seen on video during the free match against Abia Warriors officials at Umuahia Township Stadium.

Rangers were ordered to identify and hand over the officials involved in the misconduct for further sanctions.

The Enugu club has been warned that severe sanctions will be imposed if similar misconduct occurs again.

The ranger has 48 hours from the date of notification to appeal or accept the sanction.
